Stop Motion #2
In my group, we created a stop-motion video using the Stop Motion Studio App that told the story of a deer and a moose who eat a ladybug and a squirrel. At first, my group and I were planning a calmer scene where the ladybugs and bees come in and pollinate the flowers in a beautiful, picturesque scene. Our group decided to add an unexpected, funny ending to the stop motion video. By using their imaginations and having fun, the story changed course through giggles and laughter. We were able to bring our story to life in a way that a traditional video could not achieve, highlighting the fun of hands-on learning and visual storytelling.

I envision using stop motion videos in my classroom to support learning in multiple ways and also as a way to incorporate technology into my classroom. For younger students, it can make bigger concepts seem simpler. For example, you could get all the kids to create stop motion videos to demonstrate the cycle of a plant, the movement of planets, or simple science experiments. It also encourages kids to work together and develop planning skills for thinking ahead to how the video will start and finish. The students must storyboard and execute their ideas step by step in order to develop a stop motion film. These videos can help students express themselves in a creative, different kind of way. By integrating stop motion into my own classroom, I hope to foster unlimited curiosity and imagination.
