Class 2 Reflection #1 – My Experience using Social Media
For my first weekly reflection, I will be discussing my experience with using social media. i have been using social media since i was in grade 6? i think, it all started out because all my friends had it and i wanted to be just like them. Making musicallys at lunch hour and all taking pictures on Snapchat it was harmless and fun and i felt cool just even being allowed to have it because some of my friends werent allowed social media at our age.
Social media has a big impact on how we learn, share, and communicate today, which can be useful but also frightening at the same time. If I ever am stuck on making a decision, need answers to a question, don’t know what to make for dinner or even need help buying a sweater online and don’t know what the fit is going to look like, I always turn to TikTok and other social media platforms, and you can find basically anything you need answers to its like google but it comes from other people around the world who all have different opinions. However, social media also poses privacy risks, and it’s essential to be aware of what you share online. It is important to use social media responsibly and know the risks.

For the future, when I become a teacher, I want to use social media in a professional way, which I hope to learn how to do during my time in this class. I want to share my ideas with other teachers across the world and try to help others online, while also getting more educated about what it takes behind become a content creator. My goal for the future is to use social media as a tool for my own learning and growth, but also for others.
Social media has both good and bad sides. It helps people connect and learn, but can also be distracting or harmful. It is important to know the risks, but it is also important to have fun and use social media to our advantage, let it help us with our future and use it as a helpful tool.
