About Me

Kiʔsuʔk kyukyit, my name is Breanna Cristales. I am currently pursuing my B.Ed. and enrolled in the EKTEP (East Kootenay Education Program). I am proudly Ktunaxa and very grateful to be teaching on my home lands, and am also proudly Guatemalan. My favourite part of teaching is forming strong connections with my students. I prioritize my classroom being a safe and inclusive environment for all my students to feel welcome and know my classroom door is always open.

When I am not in class, I am spending time with my mom, either shopping or watching Say Yes to the Dress or a baking show. I spend lots of my time with my older brother, who I miss a lot since he moved away. We would go out for lunch lots, and he would make the best dinner for me, and he is an excellent cook and my forever lunch buddy. I have three dogs, Abby, Finn, and Dobey, who I adore. I love going to The Studio, where the energy is high, music is loud, I can move my body and ease my busy mind, and honestly, just sitting on the couch at the end of the day with my dogs and cuddling in a warm blanket with mint hot chocolate is my favourite.

I am very grateful to be on this journey and cannot wait to see what my future holds.
